Abe de Cugnac is judging Page Turner 2022 Screenplay Award in the hope of finding talented screenwriters.

Holder of master's degrees in Screenwriting from the London Film School and Advertising & Design from the University of Leeds, Abe has written for a variety of genres and formats, from noir to sitcoms, from podcasts to the big screen. He is currently working as a screenwriter on upcoming animated series for Atypical Pictures.

In 2022, he set up Desert Blues Pictures with the company's first short film currently in post-production. In addition to his writing, he works as a photographer and videographer.

His background in advertising has greatly influenced his approach to filmmaking: to be able to convince the reader that the world and characters are real, you need to research them until you find the little details and insights that make the picture complete.

"I look forward to seeing how different writers approach their craft and the techniques they use to make their scenes sing and characters sparkle. Most of all, I am excited to read what stories the writers want to tell!"
