A former anthropology instructor, curriculum developer, and academic author at the University of Saskatchewan, Shirley Bear Fedorak is now a freelance editor at her company, Bear’s Editing, and a speculative fiction author.

She has written or co-authored numerous academic textbooks, including the bestselling Anthropology Matters (University of Toronto Press, 2007, 2013, 2017).

She taught social sciences at Cairo American College in Cairo, Egypt, and has also lived in Mexico, Beirut, Lebanon, and Penang, Malaysia. Rainbow Warriors and Farmcorp are the first two speculative fiction series she has written and published.

I would like to see submissions that are well-written with strong character development. I am drawn to gripping action and adventure speculative fiction, especially if the main characters are strong women. I love vivid, detailed worldbuilding across any genre.

She has now turned to writing adult paranormal series, beginning with Whispering Walls.
