Rose Billington

Rose Billington is a judge for the Page Turner Awards Writing Award 2026

Rose Billington is a judge for the Writing Award and is hoping to discover talented writers to mentor and edit on the road to publication. She has worked in publishing for more than twenty years (several of which at a leading literary agency) so she can help writers create eye-catching submission packages.

Rose is also Associate Editor at The Literary Consultancy, the UK’s longest established editorial consultancy. Her agent experience in judging new talent helps her work for the Bridport Prize, where she selects the Memoir Award longlist and the first round entries in the Novel Award. She lives in London where she meets writers in a central location for consultations about their work and publication. She also assesses manuscripts for a number of publishers and agents including the Borough Press (part of HarperCollins UK). Her MA in English Literature is from Cambridge University.

What she is looking for:

A real page turner doesn’t just rely on plot but on the intensity of the narrative voice and the quality of the writing style. I will be looking for both these elements, as well as original, strong characters and thought-provoking questions.
