Xann-Shapella Smith from Sandpoint, Idaho, United States has been shortlisted in the Page Turner Awards eBook Award for her contemporary and historical romance eBook, Will-O'-the-Wisp Point.
Xann entered the Page Turner Awards, where published authors and unpublished writers of fiction and non-fiction across all genres can enter their writing to get discovered by high-profile judges from the literary world.
Will-O'-the-Wisp Point is about a woman who washes ashore in Will-O'-the-Wisp Point and is forced to choose between running from her past or accepting the second chance she's been given.
Growing up on a farm in North Idaho, Xann loved to lie on her back in the meadow and watch the passing jet streams and cloud formations. Her imagination would take her to far-off places and imagined characters. Now, the tranquillity of that same farm provides the perfect atmosphere for creating stories with strong female characters and family-centred themes.
Xann said, “The Page Turner Awards has been a breath of fresh air in a sea of writing competitions. Their announcements and communications have been personal, yet professional—a unique quality compared to the standard form letter responses in most writing competitions. All-in-all, the Page Turner Awards has been a wonderful experience from start to finish.”

The Page Turner Awards, sponsored by ProWritingAid, gives writers and authors the chance to enter unpublished or published fiction and non-fiction books, where a group of literary agents and publishers will read the work.
Judges are carefully selected literary agents and publishers who are looking for writers to represent and publish, plus influencers in the publishing industry.
Founder of Page Turner Awards and award-winning novelist, Paula Wynne said: “There are writers from all walks of life, from manual laborers to academics. All with stories to tell, most of them heart-warming and moving. We’re proud that our Awards celebrates excellent writing and helps writers and authors to get their stories discovered.”
Success stories from this year’s awards include three writers winning literary representation, six writers winning a writing mentorship, five writers winning a publishing contract and thirteen independent authors winning an audiobook production.
