David Mulatto grew up as a brown skinned child in a predominantly white culture, from his early years and on through adulthood David has experienced much racial stereotyping. It is these experiences that has given David the knowledge to overcome the heavy weight of the victim mentality.

These experiences are the solutions to help fix our racial divides, David believes it is honest knowledge that will set us free from conflict and allow us to see all as equal.

David said: “People often ask me, what are you? I tell them, I’m not black I’m English. As for entering a writing award, it’s better to have tried and failed than to not try at all.”

As a writing mentor, Angela Marshall will work with David to help get his writing to a publishing standard.
Angela said: “I chose David because I personally identify with his entry and writing style. I see and feel the energy through his writer's eye. We will work well together helping each other develop along this authors journey.”
Next year’s Page Turner Awards already has several literary agents and publishers as judges who are actively seeking writers to publish from the entries.

The judges also include influencers in the publishing industry, plus an audiobook production company giving published authors the chance to get their eBook and printed books into audiobooks.

Success stories from this year’s awards include three writers winning literary representation, six writers winning a writing mentorship, five writers winning a publishing contract and thirteen independent authors winning an audiobook production.
