Guest Speaker: Yasmin Kane

A literary agent for 15 years, Yasmin set up her own publishing house, Three Hares Publishing in 2014. Yasmin strives to be at the cusp of change in a continuously evolving and fast-paced industry. Her agency, Kane Literary Agency, specializes in thought-provoking YA, children’s fiction and non fiction.

She curated literary events at Midsummer Muswell Festival in 2017 and regularly participates in agent one-to-ones at London Book Fair, Winchester Writers' Festival, Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Hampshire Writers’ Society and the Historical Novel Society.

Yasmin is currently adding to her agency list and looking for non-fiction (meta physics et al.) and those elusive stories which stay with you long after the last page has been turned…

Guest Speaker: Kate Barker

Kate Barker has worked in book publishing for over 20 years as a literary agent, editor and ghostwriter. She set up her own agency in 2016 and represents a wide range of novelists and writers of non-fiction. She was previously an Editorial Director for Viking, and has also worked for Curtis Brown, Orion and Bookouture.

Kate is actively building her list and welcomes approaches from new and established writers for adults.

LA Film Scout, Stephen Hodges is a Writer, Producer and Director who has worked on some of the largest films in Hollywood including "The Matrix" sequels and "Battleship".

He is a Creative Producer and Development Executive with experience that ranges from a lead role inside the world’s largest toy manufacturer to an entrepreneur running a production company creating diverse, original IP.

Stephen is hard at work on creating "The Magic Poof" animated children's series with empowering characters for children to embrace diversity and love their differences.

A graduate of Arizona State University with Degrees in Intercultural Communication and Broadcast Journalism, Stephen has several projects in development. Stephen is dedicated to continuing to develop and create media that celebrates diversity and inspires audiences to see themselves.
