I'm an actor and aspiring screenwriter from the UK, and I want to share stories full of heart and humor that celebrate the human experience and make people feel less alone.
I would love to create a television series with a character rooted in modern reality journeying through a fantasy world, such as in the 10th Kingdom, with the playfulness and musicality of the Labyrinth at times, and the darkness of the Witcher at others. The story would begin in the main character Cora's pessimistic perspective of reality in the 'modern world.' Through unwittingly entering into a dark dimension (the 'Underworld'), she meets unscrupulous characters, overcomes psychological and physical turmoil, and ultimately gets what she thought she desired - to be whisked away by a mysterious Villain and escape her lacklustre life - but instead realizes all she took for granted back home. Cora comes to regret how she was missing out on her life because of her own apathy, and her attitude is flipped when she becomes determined to fight her way back home to the world she'd previously wished to escape. The series would include music and dancing such as Scandinavian folk metal played by the 'Finntrolls' in the Underworld, capoeira, and a fiery tango between Cora and Haeva (the protagonist 'Persephone' and antagonist 'Hades' archetypes) in a battle of wills.
