Caroline Orebi

Caroline Orebi is a debut author whose writing explores memory, identity, and the resilience of ordinary people caught in extraordinary times. Born in Germany, raised in California, and now living in Normandy, France, she draws on a lifetime shaped by different cultures and generations.

Her first memoir, Where Edelweiss Blooms, tells the true story of her mother’s childhood in wartime Germany, her youth behind the Iron Curtain, and her eventual journey to freedom. Built from years of historical research, family documents, and treasured memories, the book preserves a remarkable family legacy while illuminating a chapter of European history through a child’s eyes.

Caroline believes that the most powerful stories are those passed quietly from one generation to the next—before they are lost.
