As a person born and raised in Zimbabwe who then went on to live in Italy, Spain, Tanzania, Malawi and South Africa, I find myself particularly interested in writing about the ordinary human experience against different backdrops, and from unusual angles. I am a mother, wife, sister and daughter, and while I sit in Covid-19 imposed quarantine I am grateful for the times I have been able to spend in different spaces, different towns, different countries. Blessed with many opportunities to travel, I have pretty much been able to take advantage of all of them, including a great adventure to Antarctica. Most relevant to the writing of the book I am submitting to the 2020 Page Turner eBook Awards, I have lived in Assisi (Italy), Lilongwe (Malawi) and Johannesburg (South Africa), and I have spent significant periods of time in both Los Angeles (CA) and Richmond (VA) in the USA.
All aspects of the writing process are sources of great enjoyment to me. I love reading and am a fan of many authors, including Elena Ferrante, Malcom Knox, Richard Ford, Penelope Lively, Saul Bellow and Robert Pirsig.
