Ian Walker

I am a Covid-19 free 74 year old retired police sergeant. Married to Maureen for 53 years we have a married daughter, Louise. Our son died some three years ago leaving a widow Sara-Louise and Ewan, now aged seven who we think is rather special.
I have been writing for my own amusement for approximately eight years, and, as I am yet unpublished, still am. However, I have long term goals! I have one finished manuscript and several others well on the way (my way of dealing with writer's block). Counting The Dead was to be the first of a series of police procedurals concerning 'Brian Blake' but I have ransacked my back story to create two further novels which precede it. The only people who do not appear to like Counting The Dead are agents, although one did say that it was 'interesting'. Our conversation appears to have dwindled. The people who do like what I write are those who would be customers.

David Booker of Dayton, Ohio, whom I met through LinkedIn a few days ago asked if he could read something that I had written, so, I sent him Counting The Dead hoping that he would enjoy it. His comments took me completely by surprise:

For Gods sake get this published. You have a fantastic book on your hands. I'm up to page 119 and am irritated when someone interrupts my reading. This not only holds your interest but holds it in a vice like grip! More to follow!

Sir, I have just finished. I can;t express my admiration for what you have written. You truly have a gift and this is a wonderful book. I hope you have more in the offing because I want to read more. When you du publish I will be first in line to buy a hard copy which with your permission I will send to you for an autograph. With deepest respect for your talent, Dave P.S. I am not usually so effusive in my praise but this truly merits every word. Really well done!

I hope everyone will view them in the same light.
