The inspiration for this novel hit me during a stretch of postpartum insomnia after being bombarded with weight-loss ads at three in the morning. It grew from the dissonance between lived experience and expectation, and is written in solidarity with all mothers. I hold degrees in Plant Ecology, Cartography and have a strong background in illustration which informs the responsive magic and sense of place in Knotwood Hollow. This is my debut novel but I intend to grow the stories of the Knotwood Mama Witches as I grow in motherhood. I hope this novel can help isolated new moms find a bit of levity in their darkest hours.
