Born in the rural county of Suffolk, United Kingdom in 1949 I have been a painter and writer throughout my life. My inspiration is found in nature, in front of the living and vibrant landscape where painting becomes a connection to our precious Earth and an act of deep meditation.
My paintings, in oil and gouache, are used to illustrate my published books and articles and feature in collections world-wide. They also play a significant part in my contribution to the current debate on climate change and have been over a life time of environmental activism.
My long interest in the practise of meditation has culminated in a deepening understanding of Self Enquiry, the subject of three books written in the last decade.
I now live in a village near Glastonbury in Somerset with my daughter Jennifer and our rescue dogs. Although "retired" I continue to write, paint and meditate and meet with individuals and small groups interested to learn more of my work.
