Yvonne Johnson Carter is a co-author of A Man Inspired by God: the Art, Music, and Ministry of Elder Anderson Johnson. She completed a Doctorate of Philosophy in English at Howard University, a Master's in Journalism at the University of Maryland at College Park, and a Bachelor's in English at Saint Paul's College. She is a graduate of the Howard University Book Publishing Institute. She taught at Bowie State University and was a writer and editor for the federal government during most of her career. Some of her publications include the EEOC Mission, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the EEOC, and The Civil Rights Movement and the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. She was an assistant editor of President George H. W. Bush's Points of Light.
Vernon L. Carter Jr., who is also a co-author of A Man Inspired by God, holds a Master's in Government Contracts from George Washington University, a Bachelor's in Gallery and Museum Acquisition Management from George Mason University, and an Associate degree in Fine Arts and Photography from Northern Virginia Community College. Since retiring from the federal government, he has worked in the film production industry and appeared in several television series and movie productions. An avid art collector, his art collections and award-winning photography have been exhibited at several museums and galleries in Virginia.
