Tod Benjamin

Leaving Palmer’s School in 1953, I served two years in the R.A.F. and thereafter became too involved in building a career to allow myself the time to develop my talent for scribbling (although I did write a sales manual!). After a 40 year career, first in retail in UK, later in chemicals in UK and Asia, I retired to Bournemouth to enjoy music, golf, gardening and voluntary work – and to write. Writing became the driving force in my life but I also spent much time in voluntary work: for the NHS; for Age UK; for Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra; and in tutoring in numeracy and literacy in the USA. As age has taken its toll, my voluntary work has reduced and my writing increased accordingly. I have now completed four novels including The Stoker Trilogy.
Last year, my beloved wife died and I am now trying to follow her final instruction: to go on living and to keep writing. It is difficult. When not writing or attending to household chores, I play snooker, look after the garden, watch sport on TV and read a lot.
