Hero Brown is judging the 2022 Page Turner Awards Young Writer Award

Hero Brown, the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Muddy Stilettos, is judging the Young Writer Award in 2022.

A national journalist with over 25 years’ experience with top broadsheets and glossy magazines, Hero has been Editor of the Independent on Sunday magazine, Deputy Editor of Red magazine and a freelance features writer for Elle, Marie Claire, The Telegraph and The Times.

In 2018 Hero was named as a Digital Pioneer and in 2019, one of the UK’s 50 most inspiring women in 2019 by the Daily Mail. In 2020 Muddy Stilettos was named as one of the Top 20 NextGen UK media brands. She also recently appeared on Channel 4 as an expert on The Hotel Inspector with Alex Polizzi.

Muddy Stilettos is the UK’s No1 women’s lifestyle website outside of London, targeting affluent women looking to make the most of their and their families’ precious time and has fast become the trusted ‘go-to’ guide for cosmopolitan women.

A huge part of Muddy’s success can be attributed to Hero’s unique ability to talk directly, intimately, honestly and with trust to engaged readers combining a fun-loving and cheeky tone with on-the-pulse and engaging editorial.

I’m really thrilled to be joining the panel looking for New Young Writers to discover the NextGen of literature, with their wealth of talent with passion, energy and humour. Hopefully a positive to come out of these uncertain times will be a surge in creativity, big ideas and daring stories.

Muddy Stilettos tests, curates and makes recommendations across a range of local interests including Things to do, Art & Culture, Beauty, Fashion, Home, Eat & Drink and Kids. Other features include a What’s On guide, Muddy Stilettos Little Black Book, Muddy Stilettos School Reviews and the annual Muddy Stilettos Awards supporting Local Independent retailers and entrepreneurs.
