Chris Leonard

I’ve been writing scripts for over 20 years, ever since I wrote my first screenplay for my BA Film, on a borrowed Olivetti electronic typewriter.

Since then, I’ve been writing scripts in my spare time alongside a career as a journalist and copywriter, then a professional comms manager in Government, on the railways, in health and education. Now, having graduated from a Screenwriting MA with Distinction, I am set on becoming a full-time, paid, screenwriter and script editor.

I like to write stories set in the UK regions (I'm still a Devon lad at heart), focusing on ordinary people in sometimes extraordinary situations, with an optimistic outlook, all while being open to the comedy and pathos that we find everyday life, in even the bleakest of times.
