Amira Richler

Armed with a PhD in English Literature from the University of Rochester, I specialize in female-driven historical dramas that blend my literary expertise and research skills with an ability to tell compelling stories about women who push the boundaries of knowledge, gender, sexuality, politics, and more. My pilot script for MARY, MARY — a 10 episode limited series based on the lives and works of Mary Shelley (author of FRANKENSTEIN) and her mother, pioneering feminist and philosopher Mary Wollstonecraft — has won numerous accolades (see link to Coverfly page below).

I’m currently brainstorming a feature screenplay based on Mary Elizabeth Braddon’s novel LADY AUDLEY'S SECRET (1862), a Victorian thriller with feminist and queer undertones.

I was born in Montreal, Quebec, and reside in Silicon Valley with my family.

10 pages in and I do not know where the story is heading. Confusing order of scenes (even with color labels), dialogues are hard to follow. Yet a sophisticated writing style, fast pace, clear scene descriptions.
