Tracy Richardson

Tracy grew up in Staffordshire, England and now lives near Byron Bay in Australia.

As a senior copywriter and Creative Director, Tracy worked in large ad agency creative departments in the UK and Australia dominated by Mad Men. She has the stories to prove it.

Her journey into screenwriting began when a client dared Tracy to write a play about a dull product. She turned an Ikea instruction manual into a human offering linguistically challenging advice to a father to be. True love has to conquer many things, but none as terrifying as a flat pack cot.

Tracy’s animated short screenplay was optioned by Kristina Ceyton, Producer of The Babadook. She won the 2022 Hoodlum/Screenworks Discovering New Voices Rom Com feature screenplay competition and her TV pilot spec script won her a place at the 2022 Stowe Narrative Lab in the US.

The opening scene had me instantly hooked into following the travails of our protagonist in her desperate search for a job. It was easy to vouch for our protagonist (we want her to win and find her place in the universe) but it was even easier to keep chuckling along. Great character building.Well done!
