Alanah Knibb is a freelance artist, writer and science communicator who specialises in combining art and science through comic books. Her work aims to create space, opportunities, and inspiration to empower communities to utilise science for collective development and social change.

A former neuroscientist, Alanah holds an MSc in Science Communication and Public Engagement from the University of Edinburgh. Participatory in its approach, Alanah’s creative process often uses informal interviews to draw out lived experiences and stories as material for her work. She has been commissioned by the European Space Agency, Alzheimer’s Research UK and New Zealand’s Ministry for Education. Her work has been exhibited internationally, most recently at ISEA 2025, Ars Electronic 2024, Expo 2020 Dubai (held in 2022) and UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
