I live in London and I work for the NHS. The Light Beyond The Mountains is inspired by my own experience as a second-generation immigrant, as I spent my teenage years not knowing where I truly belonged. I visited Mussoorie – the majestic Himalayan setting of my story – as a teenager and it left a lasting impression on me. Spending four years as a voluntary counsellor for ChildLine further fuelled my ambition to write a novel that reflects the adolescent struggle for identity and connection. My hope is that young adults will see themselves in my stories.
