I’m a science writer with a passion for solutions stories about climate and the environment, and I have published personal essays and feature stories (Vox, Flyway, Civil Eats, Knowable, Modern Farmer). I teach in the MA in Science Writing program at Johns Hopkins University. I completed Orion Magazine’s week-long summer workshop in environmental writing in 2025. I grew up in a historic village in Connecticut’s Quiet Corner, where I have now returned and live with my spouse and smooth fox terrier. In my previous career, I worked in health philanthropy.
