Be Dean

Dean De Servienti has never sat still. Born in Italy, he left home at seventeen to see the world—and never really stopped. As a Political Science student, he traded lecture halls for the roads of West Africa, coming to know its land and people firsthand. That restless curiosity became his life's engine.

In the 1990s, he crossed the Atlantic to the United States, where he wrote, shot, and produced independent travel-adventure documentary series and 100+ television scripts that have since been licensed to more than 20 television channels worldwide. Between 1991 and 1995, he traveled alongside NGOs working across Africa and Central and South America, gathering the kind of stories you can't invent from a desk.

Since 2008, Dean has poured that lifetime of movement into fiction. He is the author of three novels, all critically acclaimed in Italy, and travel remains his constant muse—his source of both inspiration and discovery.

Quantum is the first of his novels to appear in English. On its Italian launch, it hit #1 overall on Amazon.it and held the top spot for over a month, becoming a national publishing phenomenon—a finalist in the Feltrinelli/Ilmiolibro national Italian literary contest and featured among Italy’s self-publishing success stories. The English edition went on to become a Foreword INDIES and Reader’s Favorite finalist, and its full-cast U.S. audiobook—with 32 actors and 350+ sound effects—was cited as one of the most ambitious American productions of 2021.
