Greg is the author of several novels, published by Reed New Zealand or Time For a Story.
Greg was the inaugural winner of the Katherine Mansfield Essay Prize in 2000, was Editor’s Pick in the Fabula Press 2024 Short Story Competition, and was long-listed in the Commonwealth Short Story Competition 2025.
Greg grew up on a Taranaki sheep farm, attended Victoria University of Wellington and holds a bachelor of arts and an MBA; has been a teacher, commercial fisherman, and businessman. Now retired, Greg lives in Picton, New Zealand with his partner Samantha and a fine border collie, Pearl. His primary interests outside writing are habitat renewal and protection, skin diving and boating.
