Born and raised in Kent, my love for writing began with poetry; filling notebooks and proudly presenting my work to anyone who would listen. Later, in my teens, I discovered that I had a musical ear – after having taught myself piano – and began writing songs.

And the best thing about songwriting is that it’s just like poetry.

I then went on to study Creative Music Technology at The University of Surrey, where I self-released my debut album Pure Existence under the alias Vanessa Atalanta. After graduating, I followed my parents to North Devon, where I've worked various jobs in retail, education, as well being an extra on a film set!

I started writing Mirrored when I was 14, and after exceeding 115,000 words and only completing 3/4 of the story, life got in the way, and I gave up. It was only in the summer of 2019 (nearly ten years later) that I blew off the dust and began rewriting the story with a fresh pair of eyes.

Two years on, I'm now querying agents for representation, writing short stories, songs, poems, and working on a sequel!
