As an ardent music enthusiast and writer, Bennett has a passion for uncovering hidden stories of musicians, particularly those hailing from California in the 1970s Laurel Canyon period and beyond.
Bennett was encouraged by exceptional teachers who recognized her creative potential. They urged her to explore the depths of her imagination and delve into the intricacies of the written word. She continued her love for writing and earned a degree in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia.
Bennett’s books showcase her talent for exploring the undisclosed lives of rock stars, going beyond the hype and glamor of rock’n’roll to portray the complexities of fame and the toll it can take on those achieving the dream. She has been recognized for her short story, ‘Amsterdam,’ by SouthWest Writers, earning her a Second Place award for Romance in 2021.
Although originally from Long Island, NY, Heather’s journey led her to Dallas, TX, where she currently resides (y’all). By day, she works as a Marketing Manager to pay the bills, but it’s during her leisure time that she truly thrives, focusing on her passion for writing while carefully attending to the whims of her vocal feline companion.
Bennett is the author of ‘Letting Go’ (2019), ‘Expecting to Fly’ (2020), ‘Flipping the Record’ (2023) and her latest release, ‘Helplessly Hoping’ (2024).
She continues to work on several projects that are eagerly vying to become her next novel. Her dedication to her craft and her love for music continue to fuel her creative spirit.
