Hywela Lyn spent most of her life in Wales, whose beautiful landscapes and wealth of myths and legends inspired her to write. A horse and dog lover, she weaves romantic Science Fiction adventures set in the future, and fantasy romances set in the distant past or the present time. A romantic at heart, she enjoys dreaming up characters who overcome the odds, and go on to find deep and enduring love. Her feisty heroines and strong heroes often have to fight the elements and the terrain itself. However difficult the journey, in the end love will always win. She hopes her stories will truly take you 'out of this world' and beyond.
Her latest release, a paranormal romance The Matchmaker's Mare is set in her native Wales and features a horse trainer and a haunted cottage inhabited by well meaning if rather mischievious matchmaking spirits. She loved being able to pour out her love of horses into the pages of this book, although she thinks readers who are not necessaily 'horse people' will also enjoy the book.
Beloved Enemy, the third book in her romantic science fantasy series, The Destiny Trilogy, was shortlisted in the Paranormal category of the prestigious Romantic Novelist Association RoNA awards and was a Runner up in the RONE Awards in 2017. The previous two books were Starquest and Children of the Mist, all three books can be read as 'stand alones'. She was also commissioned by her publisher, The Wild Rose Press, along with eight other authors, to write a novella featuring one of the nine Greek muses, for a nine story anthology. Naturally she sent her muse, Terpsichore, to Wales - in the 5th Century! She has since regained her rights to this story and self published it as a standalone book, entitled Dancing With Fate.
Her pen-name, Hywela Lyn is a combination of her first two names. (She has always been known by her second name Lyn and thought it was time her Welsh first name was used as well!) She is a member of The Romantic Novelists' Association, and her local writing group, Chiltern Writers.
