JJD Thomas is an award-winning indie author based in Durham, North Carolina. His debut novel, "Against a Sea of Troubles," was released in February of 2024, and was awarded the Indie Brag award for excellence in self-published fiction. He has recently published short stories in Griffel Magazine and Gulf Stream Literary Magazine. He graduated with an MFA in creative writing from American University and a BA in philosophy from Duke University, where he received the prestigious AB Duke scholarship. He works as a freelance editor and book coach through Duke University’s Arts Center.
