Joseph Davis

I have come to screenwriting after 25 years as a database professional. Writing fiction has always been something I have done for myself and my friends, but after writing my first feature script in 2018, I realized I'd found a format that works with the way I think. Since then, I have become involved in other aspects of film as well, including costume, wardrobe, and production.

The possibility of reinventing one's life and one's self and the cost of doing so feature heavily in my writing. These themes have come in part from my experience as a trans man, but are universal to the human experience. I am also drawn to themes of grief and overcoming grief, of loneliness, and of difficult moral and ethical choices.

I am American, but relocated permanently to Ireland in 2013.
