Judith Pasztor Duffy, originally from Hungary, is a journalism graduate. After a decade in Ireland, where she built a career in marketing, her work took her to the Gulf region.
A lifelong reader, Judith began writing fiction while caring for her first child. She completed Curtis Brown Creative’s flagship course, where she joined a community of writerly friends.
Set in a gated Middle Eastern enclave, her domestic noir centres on an expatriate mother befriended by a mysterious neighbour. Blending suspense with dark humour and emotional themes, the book explores the lengths a mother will go to fill a void in her heart.
‘Good Mothers Lie’ won the Irish Writers Centre’s International Debut Novel Competition, was a runner-up in the I Am Writing crime contest, and was longlisted for the Ascent Prize, the New2theScene Competition, the WriteMentor Award and the Blue Pencil Agency’s Pitch Prize.
Judith lives in the Middle East with her Irish husband and two third-culture children.
