Julia Bell

I have written twelve novels and I'm now working on my thirteenth. A majority of my stories are historical romances, but I've also written a supernatural romance, time travel and a paranormal romance.
In 2019 I was delighted to receive a Chill Book Premier Reader's Award for my historical romance Songbird. And in 2020 the same book was the Finalist Winner in historical romance for Readers' Favourite. I've also been very lucky to be awarded a 5* review from Readers' Favorite for The Wild Poppy (2021) and A Cruel Suspicion (2023).
I live in West Yorkshire, England and have two children and five grandchildren. My various jobs have included working as a qualified nurse, training at St James’s Hospital in Leeds and also Darlington Memorial Hospital and I've also worked as a civil servant in the Prison Service. When my children were young I successfully completed an Open University B.A. degree studying psychology and sociology. I'm now a proud member of Promoting Yorkshire Authors and love attending book fairs and author talks.
As well as writing I enjoy country walks and travelling abroad (I adore railway stations, airports and ferry ports – any place where people are on the move).
