Karen Gilleland, the hand behind the Diamond-Dennison Mysteries, spent much of her career in corporate communications. During the pandemic, Karen discovered the thrill of mystery writing. As a fan of Golden Age of mysteries, she became inspired to create intriguing characters and plots that delight cozy whodunnit enthusiasts. With the warm reception of her first mystery, DIAMOND IN THE DESERT, she next took her characters on a cruise ship adventure, with DIAMOND ON THE HIGH SEAS. Her third mystery, DIAMOND AND THE FRENCH BLUE, is a romp through the world of gem collecting.
Prior to mysteries, Karen dipped into fiction by writing FanFiction for her blog intended for the "insanely addicted fans of 'Doc Martin.'" It contains news reports about the show, along with 28 FanFiction short story--and has garnered nearly 680,000 hits. In 2015, she appeared as an extra in "Doc Martin," Series 7, Episode 3.
A resident of Boulder, Colorado, Karen is married with two adult children. She is a member of the Colorado Authors League, Denver Woman's Press Club, and Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers.
