Kathy was born in Boston, raised in Scituate, Massachusetts and a graduate of Connecticut College. Aside from being an advertising copywriter, she is also a painter and musician. She lives in Cohasset, Massachusetts and writes historical and middle grade fiction. Familiar with the legend of Boston Gilded Age Copper King, Thomas Lawson, Kathy wrote "Luck Struck" because it's an American version of "Downton Abbey." Above all, it's a passionate, decades-spanning love story between Thomas and Jeanne Lawson, who shared a spicey and sensual intimate relationship. Their six children, each a blue ribbon equestrian, enjoyed a front row seat to the good life, despite their distinct personas; each with a different vision for life ahead.
