Kelly Lydick

Kelly Lydick received a B.A. in Writing and Literature from Burlington College, and her M.A. in Writing and Consciousness from the New College of California, San Francisco (now at CIIS).

Her writing has appeared in Guernica, The Rumpus, Drunken Boat, Switched-on Gutenberg, Mission at Tenth, Thema, Tarpaulin Sky, and many others.

Her articles on dreams, meditation, and other subjects have appeared in magazines including CO Yoga + Life, Yoga + Life, Natural Awakenings, True Blue Spirit, Java, Western Art Collector, Santa Fean. Her work has been featured on NPR’s The Writers’ Block, and she’s appeared on NPR’s Word podcast, iHeart Radio, InnerZension Radio, Align Radio, and others.

She is the author of the experimental work, Mastering the Dream, the nonfiction Dream Incubation for Greater Self-Awareness: A Handbook, and she’s a contributing author to the anthologies Dreams That Change Our Lives; My Journal My Journey; and Are You the Missing Piece?.

Kelly has worked with companies such as Hachette Book Group, Gibbs Smith Publisher, City Lights Books, Cengage Learning, and many others.

She was the co-founding editorial board member and Associate Editor of Immanence: The Journal of Applied Myth, Story, and Folklore.

In 2016, Kelly was honored by the internationally-renowned Omega Institute of Rhinebeck, New York, with a Juno Residency Award for excellence in women’s leadership for her service-based business, Waking the Dream.

In late 2018, Kelly founded The Story Laboratory, a boutique publishing consulting company that offers support for aspiring creative writers, established authors, and publishing companies through all phases of the publishing process.

She is also the Founder and Owner of Pure Carbon Publishing.
