Matt graduated from Missouri State University with an MA in Professional Writing. In the summer of 2020, he was one of six writers selected for Debatable Production's Fellowship for Writers Under 25, where he workshopped his pilot for Good Lord with Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh. Most recently, his short script The Tortoise won the SWN Goldman Award for Best Short Film Script.
