I am an aspiring author who is hoping to gain the exposure necessary to secure an agent to launch my literary career. I graduated from The University of Sheffield with a BA (Honours) English Literature degree, and have been working in the legal industry to support myself as I write.
The first chapter of my book (Chain Game) was recently selected for broadcast on Radio Sheffield as part of the BBC Uploads initiative. A respected radio journalist read the extract before I gave a brief interview about my work. It was a very exciting experience and I am hoping to build upon that momentum by entering prestigious novel competitions such as this.
The pitch line for my novel is as follows: an agent working undercover in the global prison system condemns himself by saving a city from an extraordinary attack.
It is the first of a planned series to feature the same character.
