I was born and raised in south east London (Camberwell and Peckham). At age twenty-one I joined the Metropolitan Police where I served for twenty years in numerous high profile squads before being pensioned out with a serious back injury.
Blessed with a complete lack of DIY skills I could now concentrate all of my efforts on writing and the first thing I did was write a screenplay that I eventually turned into my debut novel published by Joffe Books, 'Their Last Words'. I wrote a series of novels featuring Detectives Paterson and Clocks, which can be found exclusively on Amazon.
Since it's publication I have gone on to write and publish nine more books featuring the same two detectives. I became disillusioned with reading 'top level' crime fiction which was so sanitised and removed from real life that when I first put pen to paper with these two detectives it was important to me to write truthfully about the way police and villains speak and operate in the real world and the bonds they make through facing violent crimes. The books also look at the mental toll police officers face.
I consider myself fortunate to find that I now have quite a considerable following and am looking forward to writing more books in the series but also with an eye to writing new crime thriller series and screenplays.
My writing ambitions are to see Paterson & Clocks make their way onto the screen and continually hone my writing craft.
