I am a published poet, journalist and business writer (currently employed by the communication office of the University of Cape Town). This is my first fiction work, the result of years of steady participation in a writing group based in Cape Town, South Africa, where I live. (I am now working on my second novel.) I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1950s-1980s – the setting of Still Life With Hemingway.
