My background includes working in the music industry filming and producing music documentaries with many great, well known artistes. It was a fantastic part of my life, working in Europe and the USA interview some amazing musicians. I have a lot of experience in directing, filming /editing and audio recording. Film production has been a big part of my life producing short films, music documentaries/live concerts, corporate film and charity work. As a film maker I even worked in China for a week producing an information film about the bamboo industry. My passion now is writing. I have been writing screenplays for 6 years, mostly comedy/dark comedy. One day I was talking to a complete stranger about film making and writing and he said to me that somebody should write a screenplay about the drug trade in our area as it would make a great story, so that's what I did. I have completed various short stories and sitcoms and now 'Crossing the County Lines' which is a feature length, dark comedy screenplay which follows the lives of 3 northern drug gangs The Townies, The Gypsies and the City Boys. I have written it as a feature length screenplay but it would also make an excellent TV drama series so I am I am currently finishing the other 4 x 60 mins episodes of the first series. I live in a deprived area of the poor part of the country and grew up witnessing a lot of drug and alcohol misuse and have experienced the effects they have on all age groups. The 'County Lines' issue has become a very topical news subject in the media for it's obvious negative effects but the script focuses on the day to day lives of the people involved in the trade, including their family life, relationships, fears and ambitions. I have a great deal of faith in this script and have had some great feedback from professionals and potential viewers regarding the individual characters and plot. I am currently finishing the other 4 x 60 mins episodes of the first series.
