Richard Boyd is a retired Professor of Physics and of Astronomy from The Ohio State University. He has published, with collaborators from many countries, over 250 papers and 3 scientific books on nuclear physics, astrophysics, and astrobiology. His second career now focuses on writing novels that deal with issues he regards as important, but which are interleaved with an interesting, and usually action packed, nontechnical story. These include civility, artificial intelligence, electromagnetic radiation, and campus sexual assault.
Besides writing, his hobbies include hiking, gardening, husbanding, grandfathering, and enjoying the wonders of Sonoma County, California.
