Now a full-time author, I live with my wife in Hampshire not far from the Solent. My early working life was as a construction engineer, a career that also took us abroad to work in Zambia and Jordan. Returning home I joined a major Japanese Corporation, administering large civil and industrial projects in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. A career change to run a small family business and read for a Masters Degree in Maritime Studies, led to me finishing my first novel, ‘A Cast of Hawks,’ which was published in 2010. 'Shadows Beneath The Long White Cloud' is the fifth book in Ian Vaughan series of thrillers. When not writing I enjoy sailing if boat owning friends have deck space available. I also give talks on a variety of subjects from Japan's cultural history to the construction of the Kariba North Hydro Electric power station plus maritime talks.
