Renee Bolla, a children's picture book author, seamlessly transitioned from the corporate world of fashion retail to crafting enchanting literary worlds that captivate young minds. Her self-published books, Finding Bunny and Imagine That (2022) and her latest release, The Truth About Stepmoms (2024), explore themes of friendship, family, courage, and imagination.
As a mother to three daughters, Renee weaves her personal experiences into every story, creating relatable, heartfelt narratives that reflect the shared joys and challenges of parenthood.
Renee’s love for literature extends beyond her own writing. She is a co-founder of A Pop of Indie, Michigan's first traveling book fair for independently published authors. Through this initiative she connects local authors directly with elementary students, aiming to inspire, empower, and nurture their minds, one indie book at a time. She is also a writing contributor for Detroit Mom, a proud member of the SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), an active participant in Julie Hedlund’s 12x12 Picture Book Challenge, and a founding member of Kidlit at Heart, a grassroots children’s picture book marketing group.
Writing is Renee’s creative outlet, a sanctuary where she crafts imaginative worlds that inspire connection, wonder, and a love for storytelling.
