R.S. Farmer

Robin Farmer’s writing projects, including poetry and short stories, focus on girls discovering their voices and advocating for marginalized communities. Adapted from her own screenplay, MALCOLM AND ME, Robin’s debut YA novel is an Eric Hoffer Grand Prize Short List finalist, a 2021 Human Relations Children’s Indie Book Award Gold Winner, a 2021 Library of Virginia Literary Award nominee, and a 2022 YAVA Award nominee. Robin won the 2019 She Writes Press and SparkPress Toward Equality in Publishing (STEP) Contest. A national-award winning journalist, her narrative and investigative projects for the Richmond Times-Dispatch earned her a Knight-Wallace fellowship at the University of Michigan, among other honors. Robin is a recipient of residencies at the Rowland Writers Retreat, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Djerassi Resident Artists Program. Director of the Virginia Screenwriters Forum, she is adapting another original script into her second YA novel. Robin works with local organizations to empower writers. She lives in a suburb of Richmond, Virginia.
