Seamus McKenna

Seamus is a full-time writer with a background in Civil Engineering. In 2023 he gained an MA in Creative Writing from Dublin City University (DCU). His other books include THE MAKER’S NAME, a novel, and THE RECONSTITUTION OF IRELAND, a work of non-fiction, which is built around the eclectic mix of letters he has had published in the Irish Times over many years.

While self-published, The Maker’s Name has received excellent reviews from Kirkus, Readers Favorite, Literary Titan, as well as on Amazon and Goodreads. The Reconstitution of Ireland is just out, is also self-published, and initial indications are that it too will be well-received.

Seamus has broadcast on RTE (Ireland's national TV and radio broadcaster) Radio 1’s Sunday Miscellany (new writing for radio).

Comparatives for Saint Helen would include Claire Keegan's Small Things Like These and Paul Murray's The Bee Sting. It sits well beside the work of Anne Enright, John Banville, Colm Tóibín, and John McGahern.

He holds an MBA from Trinity College Dublin (Class of ’97). His career to date has been eventful and entrepreneurial, and he regards bookselling to be a business like any other. He is easy to work with.
