New Zealand born, I hold a PhD in History, studied English postgraduate and taught it in three countries, became recognised in New Zealand as a freelance writer of newspaper features and had many poems published from winning national competitions. I now live in Australia, recently retired from a university management position. While novel writing is my prime occupation a hobby is writing and illustrating children’s picture books (Magpoo the Magpie, 2025).
