My name is Surinder Singh Jolly, and I am a retired doctor. I was born and raised in Kenya, moving to India in my teens and remaining there to study Medicine. A few years after I graduated, I moved to the UK in 1979, with my wife, also a doctor, to continue practising here. Since then, I have worked in various NHS hospitals across the UK and ultimately settled as a General Practitioner in Manchester, where we have raised our 3 daughters.
In 2009, MBE was awarded to me by the Queen, for services to medicine and healthcare.
My inspiration for this book came from my personal experiences, my love for India, and my reflections on East meets West.
