I spent 30 years working in publlic and academic libraries as a historian. In the past four years I have written over a dozen screenplays and television pilots and have received recongintion as an award winner or finalist in twenty-five international screenplay contests. "All Quiet on the Italian Front" is an adaptation of my Great Uncle Vincenzo D'Aquila's 1931 memoir "BodyGuard Unseen." It is an anti-war memoir on his experience as an Italian American ex-patriot recruited to fight for Italy during World War I. "4th and Going Home" is based on a true story of a high school football game played inside the Colorado Amache Japanese American Internment camp on Armistice Day November 11, 1943. The game was between the undefeated Holly High School football team and the Amache High School team made up of Japanese American players and played inside the barbed wire and guard towers at Amache. Despite the 30 pound difference per player weight advantage of the Holly team, the Amache team had more to prove and (spoiler alert) won the game 7-0.
