Terry Podnar, a graduate of Kent State, is a prolific screenwriter and producer who currently lives in Akron, Ohio. His passion for films started at an early age when he wrote and filmed numerous independent films. However, Terry was sidetracked by founding and running a successful business. After selling the business, Terry was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2021. To fill a void in his life, he returned to his passion for screenwriting. Since then, he has written six award-winning feature-length screenplays and five short scripts. Terry's feature script, The Red Zone, has been chosen as a Finalist by the New York International Screenplay Awards and ranks in the top 1% on Coverfly's The Red List. Feral Mountains has been chosen as a Finalist at the Page Turner Awards and the New York Script Awards. One of Terry's scripts, Broken Worlds, has been optioned to Pollack Films. Recently, he has started his own production company, Podnar Philm Productions, under the guidance of Producer Jean-Francois Cavelier. Terry is also a producer of the film Because of Us, currently in pre-production, and is working on a script/biopic about his struggles with cancer.
