Twins JC Martin and Jhada' Martin have been writing together since they were eleven years old, which means for as long as either of them can remember, storytelling has been a shared language between them. Under the name The Lyons, they've spent over a decade honing a voice that is unmistakably their own: sharp, atmospheric, and unafraid to sit in the tension of what's left unsaid.
Their short fiction has been recognized in multiple writing competitions, earning them a reputation for crafting stories that linger, narratives built on subtext, mood, and characters whose voices feel fully lived-in from the first page. But The Lyons' creative reach extends beyond the page.
Their photography, a natural extension of the same eye for atmosphere and detail that defines their writing, earned them a showcase position at the National Gallery of Jamaica, where their work was on display through April 2026.
