T.J Milliican is the creator of The Adventures of James Cookie Cook, a character-driven action-adventure series known for its technical detail, cinematic action, vivid travel, grit and emotional depth. Raised in a military household as the child of a naval officer and an artist, Millican's early life was shaped by disipline, movement, and loss. He later became the first male in his family not to serve in the navy and instead served in the British Army, before uterlising his experience and transitioning into civilian life as a flight paramedic. Educated in both the UK and the US and having worked across the globe, Millican draws heavily on real operational environments- from hospitals and airfields to deserts, back roads and open seas. An avid motorcyclist, horseman, and offshore sailor, he has travelled extensively, often to inhospitable locations and covering tens of thousands of miles a year on two wheels.
The writing in Algerian Sands, his debut novel, blends lived experience with the adventures he wished he'd had, capturing the humour, chaos and hard-won insight with an honest, unfiltered voice. Millican writes to honor those who serve, for those that choose the path less trod and to explore the pull of the open road. He is supported and encoraged by his two boys and his childhood sweetheart.
