I am a queer son of Cuban immigrants. My experience of being a double minority (queer &  latinX) and son of a national psychologist radio host/author for LatinX Americans (Dr. Isabel Gomez-Bassols) taught me to have a high level of compassion for others. My mother has consistently used her national platform to stand up and speak out for others and to always strive to understand other people's minds before making quick judgments. My experiences have granted me the ability to enter people's minds and see life through their eyes - that is the superpower of a storyteller, to be able to empathize with others and inspire a greater understanding of others.

My first two books were published for children ages 3-8. Dr. Isabel and I wrote these books to help children who fear natural disasters and immigration. At the time Hurricane Katrina and major mudslides in Guatemala were present on children's minds.

The other book was a story to inspire children to be the best they can be through a healthy diet. I consider my writing as my mother considers her career in psychology - a path to healing. My mission is to write medicinal stories that help educate & create greater compassion in the world for youth or adults. I've been writing for over 30 years, striving to have the same impact as my mother has had and to give back to both my communities that have been historically mistreated, maligned, and subjugated.

I write because it is the "path with the most heart". I write to be a catalyst for positive change, expand consciousness, spur constructive dialog and sprinkle a dash of magic to this mundane & too-often cruel world.

Writing to help others is a family tradition and is literally in my DNA.

My two main goals after over 30 years of writing & honing my craft, are to have any one of my features, short films, TV Pilots, or my spiritual sci-fi/fantasy Children's novel produced and to be gainfully employed as a feature or TV writer in Hollywood.
